SMS or Bluetooth Proximity Advertising?
Short Message Service (SMS) or Texting is a service available on most digital mobile phones and to the end user it is around 8 pence per message. To do a full campaign using SMS you not only have the cost of the message sent out but also have to get your hands on a double opt in mobile phone number database. This can be time consuming and expensive also it is not proximity marketing and doesn’t get the same returns as Bluetooth Marketing.
Bluetooth Marketing is just one or a few units that are located either near doorways, kiosks or any place of waiting that will send in the same way SMS sends a message out a short information text, graphic, calendar event or contact address. This is true proximity marketing.
The costs of Bluetooth Marketing are only a small percentage of SMS marketing and don’t require you to find a suitable database.
